DID YOU MISS IT? An emotional home hat-trick as Cremona delivers plenty of WorldSBK action
WorldSBK headed to Italy for Round 4 of a thrilling 2025 season with the Cremona Circuit hosting the latest chapter in Bulega vs Razgatlioglu
The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship headed to the Cremona Circuit in northern Italy for the fourth round of what has been an unforgettable campaign so far. Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) headed to his home round looking for redemption after his Assen woes while Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was aiming to get back to winning ways. The Acerbis Italian Round delivered more edge-of-your-seat action, so make sure you catch up on everything from the weekend!
FRIDAY’S ACTION: Bautista’s multiple crashes
With the WorldSBK preparing for the weekend on Friday with two practice sessions, the last thing any rider wants is to lose time with a fall. Unfortunately for Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati), he had not one, not two, but three crashes on a Friday to forget. The #19 was able to bounce back across the weekend to secure three podiums and have two calm days on Saturday and Sunday. Elsewhere, the grids were set in WorldSSP and WorldWCR thanks to their Tissot Superpole sessions.
SATURDAY’S EARLY-RACE BATTLE: Bulega vs Razgatlioglu again
The story of 2025 so far has been Bulega vs Razgatlioglu and that continued in the early stages of Race 1, with ‘El Turco’ able to get ahead on the opening lap before resisting Bulega’s pressure over the first few laps. Eventually, Championship leader Bulega was able to get ahead of his BMW rival and storm to a first win on home soil. There were three Italian winners on Saturday, with Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) claiming victory in WorldSSP and Roberta Ponziani (Klint Forward Racing Team) coming out on top in a last-lap thriller in WorldWCR for her first win in the category.
COMPLETING THE HAT-TRICK ON SUNDAY: Bulega makes it three from three at Cremona
Sunday’s Tissot Superpole Race saw Bulega lead every lap and claim victory before Race 2 featured another big battle in the early stages between the #11 and the #1. It was a similar story to Race 1 with Razgatlioglu getting ahead on the opening lap and Bulega putting him under immense pressure for a handful of laps, before the Ducati star got ahead and built up a gap to complete an emotional hat-trick. In WorldSSP, there was an epic scrap for victory as Manzi did the double and Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) claimed a first World Supersport rostrum, while WorldWCR again featured a last-lap fight as Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Racing Team) beat Ponziani to the line with Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) third.
DON’T MISS OUT ON MOST: plenty of action to come from the Autodrom Most
WorldSBK action next comes from the Autodrom Most, a modern classic since its first introduction to WorldSBK in 2021. There have been plenty of last-lap fights at the Czech venue previously, incredible battles throughout the field and 2025 is going to have more of the same. WorldSSP is also in action and WorldSSP300 too, making it an action-packed weekend at the Motul Czech Round.
